We’re thrilled to introduce our newest addition to the SOAR 2026 competition lineup: the Improv Category — a chance to showcase your raw creativity, musicality, and aerial instincts in the moment. Improv is open to ALL Aerialists, whether your'e signed up for the regular competition or not.

What Is It?

The Improv Category is all about spontaneity and expression. You’ll step into the air with no choreography and 90 seconds to move and perform to a random, popular song chosen by our team. The catch? You won’t know the song until it starts!

Silks
Lyra
Sling

Choose your apparatus when registering — and we’ll take care of the rest.

Cost:

$35 entry fee

Awards:

The winner in each apparatus will receive:

A SOAR Improv Trophy
A $100 credit toward SOAR merchandise

Winners will be selected by our panel of judges based on:

Creativity
Flow
Performance quality
